One of the most important activities in Dextra is the appropriate application of project management practices. We believe that project management is a key factor to deliver quality projects on time and within budget; and our experience probes it. Our project management policies and guidelines include:
- Comprehensive risk management
- Senior management involvement throughout the project lifecycle
- Short iterations/sprints with concrete deliverables
- Rolling wave planning for innovation and high-uncertainty projects
- We discourage and avoid activity padding in our plans
- Proactive involvement of stakeholders
- Formal but responsive management of changes
- Project progress and status are tracked and communicated on a weekly basis
The appropriate application of project management practices is fostered by our project management certification program. This program covers needs that range from introductory material to the project management body of knowledge to industry’s best practices. The objective for our engineers on this program is not only to achieve a certification as Project Management Professional (PMP), but to develop the personal skills required to be an effective project manager.
